Learn From Your Mistakes Without Bitter Feelings
Posted in: Uncategorized by wpat on December 06, 2008
We all make mistakes, don’t we? I haven’t met one single person who doesn’t make mistakes almost on a daily basis or on a weekly basis or even on a monthly basis.
Mistakes are part of human relations and usually occur when we make an error in calculating certain things. Mistakes are bound to happen and that’s a fact.
You need to realize that mistakes are destiny snatchers when you let them be. They can also be destiny makers if you approach them with the right mentality.
However, whether you learn from your mistakes and move on is a totally different matter. Some people can spend years being frustrated and unfulfilled because of their inability to get over a mistake they made.
So, how do you ensure that a mistake is not going to keep you down for the rest of your life? How do you learn from your mistakes? Here goes:
• Identify: Look carefully at those things that you could have done differently and devise ways to side-step any blunders similar to your mistake in the near future. Knowing what you did wrong lets you learn faster from your mistakes. A mistake can make or mar you….its really your choice.
• Forgive: Most of the time, learning from your mistake entails forgiving yourself and moving on.
If you are unable to forgive yourself for committing a blunder, you will probably punish yourself for the rest of your life and live in perfect misery. This is not smart.
• Accept: Accept the fact that you have made a mistake and move on. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You are not perfect and mistakes are definitely bound to happen. If you are unable to accept the fact that you have made a mistake, you’ll be bound to repeat it over and over again and you know what they say about people who make the same mistake twice, don’t you?
